As a Washington, DC family photographer, I’m always dreaming up new ways to capture the magic of everyday moments. That’s where my Dream Sessions come in—sessions I’d have so much fun shooting and would love, love, love to have in my portfolio. They’re unique, meaningful, and full of personality—and I can easily see local DMV families enjoying every single one.
In 2024, I got to bring several of these ideas to life, and they were just as magical as I imagined:

And while I’m thrilled about the sessions I’ve captured, I still have a list of Dream Sessions I’d love to check off—ideas that are just waiting for the right families to bring them to life:
Skateboards
Calling all skaters! Whether you’re cruising sidewalks or showing off tricks, let’s photograph your crew rolling through life together, full of speed, laughter, and style. Psst.. I fully expect to capture plenty of crash landings as well!
Little Explorers
I am SUPER excited about this one. It’s a niche idea, but for the right family, I think it’s really really fun. This would be a kids only session – we’d set off on a hike or a walk in a nature park with all of our “little explorer” tools: maps, magnifying glasses, binoculars, backpacks, nets, etc. And we’d see what we can find! Pro-tip: this would be fun for a set of cousins who enjoy exploring the outdoors!
Family Dinner
Okay, here me out. I bet you’re like, “Morning routine? Ummm no.” But there’s magic in the everyday. Let’s freeze time as you gather around the table—cooking, tasting, chatting, and savoring the beautiful chaos that is family dinner.
Boat / Kayak / Canoe
Ready to set sail? Whether you’re paddling a canoe, cruising in a boat, or gliding in a kayak, let’s document your adventure on the water—wind in your hair, splashes all around, and a whole lot of smiles.
Mini Golf
Putt-putt perfection! Let’s capture your family’s epic mini golf showdown, from hilarious hole-in-ones to those tricky obstacles that make everyone crack up.
Painting
Let’s hang up a big sheet in your backyard or a local park and get to painting! Fair warning: I WANT you guys to get messy during this session. So if you have kids that you think would love to paint you/each other, this would be a fun option for you!
Bowling Alley
Let’s hit the lanes! I’ll photograph your family rolling strikes, celebrating spares, and laughing over gutter balls—all under neon lights and the soundtrack of crashing pins.
Pool Day
Self-explanatory! If you have a pool, I’ll come over one day for some fun in the sun! I’d love to include big, colorful floats + cute sunnies on the kids + popsicles!
Dream Sessions aren’t just for me—they’re for families who want something different from their portraits.
