Here’s how to actually ENJOY your newborn session:
Let go.
As a recovering perfectionist, I know this is easier said than done, right?!
You’re sleep-deprived. You don’t feel like yourself. You might even be recovering from major surgery. You LOVE this new little human, but it’s a struggle in those early days! And then you’re supposed to just relax and “enjoy” newborn photos?!
I know. It sounds nearly impossible. But I promise you, “letting go” fast tracks you to those beautiful photos that “feel” like YOU.
If you let go of fear, control and perfection during your newborn session, here’s what will happen:
- You’ll relax. And in that relaxed state, you’ll naturally be more joyful. Joy = beautiful.
- You’ll give off a calm, patient energy that everyone in the room can feel, including baby!
- You won’t be phased by a fussy baby. We’re in no rush!
- You’ll be open to your photographer’s creative ideas. Typically, when a photographer knows they are trusted by their clients to follow their instincts, they create better images.
So if you’re hesitant about booking newborn photos because they feel overwhelming, think about WHY they feel that way…and perhaps embracing the idea of “letting go” will reduce some of that overwhelm ❤️
